Cauliflower Mezhukkupuratti Recipe / Stir fried Cauliflower with Black Pepper


Preparation Time – 10 mints
Cooking time – 30 mints
Serves -2

Ingredients:
Cauliflower-1 small (2 cups sliced florets)
Onion – 1 large, sliced
Garlic – 1 tbsp, chopped
Green chillies – 2 or3, sliced
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Curry leaves - few
Salt to taste
Oil – 2 tbsp
Crushed Black pepper – 1 tbsp

Method:
  • Trim the Cauliflower and take off the leaves and excess stalk and cut cauliflower into small florets.
  • Wash Cauliflower very well under running water and soak it in warm water for a while and drain.
  • Cook cauliflower with onion, garlic, green chillies, turmeric, salt and ½ cup water. When the water has evaporated and the cauliflower is cooked, remove from the heat and set aside. When cooled you can store it in the fridge and stir fry it when required.
  • To stir fry: Heat oil in a non stick pan and add crushed black pepper (not powdered) stir for few seconds and add cooked cauliflower and stir fry over medium heat until cauliflower is lightly browned on all sides. Serve hot.
