Looking for an Appetizer
recipe for Easter or for a party? Try these Jalapeno Peppers for a change.... You can make these ahead of time and you only need to fry just before serving.... You can add some Bacon too in the filling if you wish....
Stuffed Jalapeno Peppers

Cooking time ~ 6 to 8 mints
Serves ~ 4 - 6
Ingredients:
12 ounces / 1 ½ cups cream
cheese (softened)
1 (8 ounce) package / 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 tsp cumin powder
1 (8 ounce) package / 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 tsp cumin powder
1 -2 tbsp coriander leaves
8 to 12 jalapeno peppers (seeded)
1 cup milk
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup dry bread crumbs

Vegetable oil for deep
frying
Method:
- In a small bowl, add cream cheese, and cheddar cheese. Add cumin and coriander leaves. Mix them well.
- Remove stem, seeds, and pulp of jalapeno peppers. Stuff each half of pepper with cheese mixture.
- In a bowl, whisk together egg, and milk. Place flour, and bread crumbs in 2 different bowls.
- Dip peppers in egg - milk mixture, then in flour, and finally into the crumbs bowl. Chill the peppers for 10 minutes. Repeat the process.Chill for another 10 minutes. For extra crumbs, dip the peppers in egg/milk bowl, then in the bread crumbs. Chill for half an hour.
- Heat oil in a pan. Deep fry the peppers until golden brown. Drain on a paper.
- Serve with sour cream / tartar sauce / tomato ketchup.

ReplyDeletethis is one of my fav starters, i slit it in half, fill it, top with some cheddar and bake. we dont get jalapenos that easily here, and when we do its so expensive. I sooo wish i had some now...
